Good choices. My mum (bless her) was a Wurzels fan. Saw them with my mum and dad when I was around 8/9 years old. They go down as my first ever concert…. That and “brand new harvester” bring back many memories of my parents. Completely forgot about them, thanks for sharing that.

No, he died over 50 years ago Mr H. Try not being bitter and sarcastic, life is to short. I just think football forums are just that, about football. It’s a lot more interesting to talk about what Tonda has for a pre match meal, than any talk of the troubles in the world . That’s football.

I saw Hendrix perform All Along the Watchtower and that was pretty good.
Another outstanding cover version I saw live was Joe Cocker's With a Little Help from My Friends. He lived for that song.
The 3rd great cover from that era was The Byrds' version of Mr. Tambourine Man, but I only saw that performed by one of them - Roger McGuinn.
Somewhat surprising that nobody has yet mentioned the cover version that has long set the standard for the genre.
The application of raw talent that produces a memorable cover re-imagining and enhancing the original song to stunning effect.
I refer of course to the Syd Vicious My Way cover. The first time I saw him coming down the staircase in the video I p*ssed myself.

Sid (Syd) should have kept to jumbing up and down at the 100 club. Compared to the other punk bands at the time the Pistols were very second rate. Did you know that the start of “ Gimme, Gimme” by Abba influenced Matlock to write the start of “ Pretty Vacant “.
