It would have been ideal to have played Che Adams and Adam Armstrong as neither of them can hit a barn door in the PL so it would be interesting to see if they can do it against a struggling Championship side. Though equally you could argue it would have been an ideal opportunity to have played Ballard and to see how he copes with the next level. | | | |

Hard to draw any positives from the game today.
Constantly gave the ball away and created very little. 2-1 almost flattered us.

A win is a win I suppose and that is a positive and so is being in the next round and we had lot of possession (just so we don't get accused of not finding the positives). It could have been a banana skin of a game and we passed it. Thought we were a bit casual at times especially once we went 2-0 up.
Perraud whenever I have seen him has delivered but seems to have to fight more than some for a place. Our so called first choice forwards could learn something from him.
I think we can be thankful we did not play against a stronger championship side let alone a PL one. It was not an enjoyable game to watch and I cannot help but feel that that Man City Carabao cup game as great as it was appears to have been a one off fluke. That said, I suppose I should allow for the fact that the team today were much changed from that evening - in the interest of balance.

I_WOULD will go mental but we missed JWP with his work rate and constantly trying to encourage the team. I can't remember the last time he wasn't in the squad and we deffo have played similar games before as in cr@p , we were not good but all in all we deserved the win I think . We played well against Newcastle and I honestly think we have a chance on Tuesday night. |  |

Two cracking goals from Perraud saw us through. Best song of the day came from the Blackpool fans, "Are you Blackpool in disguise?" They are currently second from bottom of the Championship but towards the end of the game, we looked like giant killers from the National League desperately trying to hang on to a lead against a team from a higher league. Still, a win is a win and I was happy to see us get through to the 5th round again. |  |

I had the same thought. The team we fielded today would be a similar strength to or perhaps even stronger than our first team in the Championship, and it certainly looks like we would struggle to avoid two consecutive relegations. If we'd been playing up at Blackpool, we probably would have lost and that wasn't even a full strength Blackpool team as there were 5 changes from their last league game. | |
