I’ve just watched a recording of the Fans Forum.
In my opinion the whole experience ruined by Blackmore’s constant supplementary questions to the management team supposedly on behalf of the fans that attended.
Every season it’s the same. All he ever does is run the clock down asking mainly patsy questions at the expense of the fans that have made the effort to go to St Mary’s.
To me he gives the impression that he believes he is part of the Saints management team rather than just a journalist employed by the B B C and a match day commentator for Radio Solent.

When he interviews players/manager after a game during the season he tends to not only ask questions, but also gives the answers he wants invite same sentence rather that let them answer the actual question.

He is a Villa fan, but I rather like him.
He comes across as a pretty passionate Saints follower, and if you meet him, he is pretty opinionated in a lot less diplomatic way about Saints than when on the radio. |  |

I listen to him quite a lot. I think he does a good job . He always sticks up for saints and his analysis is usually accurate and he definitely has saints in his heart and he’s not afraid to be critical when it’s needed, Villa fan or not (which I find hard to believe) | |

I recall running into him and Dave Merrington at Prague Airport the morning after our miserable defeat at Prague in the Europa League.
Merrington had his head down in a book, but Blackmore was good value.
Went on a completely unprompted expletive-filled rant about Claude Puel, moaning about how he had kept him waiting for 45 minutes in the pissing rain for a post-match interview, and then gave Blackmore monosyllabic responses to just 2 questions. Blackmore was fuming.
I always quite liked him after that. | |

I've met Adam a few times, once at St Mary's, once in service station on the way home from an away game, omce at Everton away in the fan park and once in the car park and bar at Eastleigh FC. He is down to earth, honest, decent and always happy to chat to fans. He is thoroghly passionate about Saints and not a hint that he has Villa roots. He chatted away at Eastleigh, answered of our probing questions in the bar!
On the way back from the away game a few years back, Dave Merrington was in the car too. Again a great bloke, down to earth, happy to chat to us in the service station car park!
I like Blackmore and his commentary, but I do agree that he needs to stop interrupting but maybe part of that is forced, planned or encouraged as all part of the show. But yes it's annoying and takes up a lot of time. [Post edited 7 Aug 14:42]

Is he contesting the charge at the hearing or has he accepted the charge but has asked for a hearing as well? We were told that Eckert had already been interviewed by the FA so I'm not sure what else there is to say. | | | |

They could have done, but they'd only have got vague answers. As usual, nothing was actually said at the event. I think the only new thing I heard was that Parsons believes we're not allowed to have stripes on the back of the shirt, which is strange when you look at some of the other shirts out there.

I had a long chat with Dave Merrington when on a recent cruise. We were visiting the Normandy beaches and his crowd were put on the same lunch table as our crowd. A very passionate saints guy who couldn’t stand all the tippy tappy nonsense that Russel Martin was playing. He also spoke about a terrible injury whilst playing for Burnley which cut short his playing career. Top bloke . | |

Blackmores opening speech was only about 10 mins long , not bad for him .
He opens the forum and asks each person in the from the cub a question before finally opening it up to those fans that were there .
That's not bad for him but he can’t keep quiet and will often tag onto a question or ask it in a different way . | |

Adam's been great as a Saints commentator and reporter but you have to remember Adam's an Establishment man and he will, in the end, always preside with the Establishment whether its The Saints Establishment or The BBC.
At the Forum he reigned over it like an autocratic dad but to be honest I can't see what more he could have done without upsetting either party (The Club and The Saints fans). He treads a thin line. But he does that well and TBH I can't see anybody else doing it better.
I do really like the combo with Jo Tessem who gives a genuinely honest, and Saint's fan, perspective.
I do however, think the Saints Forum is a kowtow to non-existent 'democracy' and fans will never get the straight answer that they're seeking. [Post edited 9 Aug 12:52]
