Ukraine lives matter too. We can’t do much as individuals but showing solidarity and support for these poor people on a world stage is the least we can do. Kicking a ball about pales in comparison to innocent people being blown apart in their homes. Showing support at a football match won’t save their lives but at least it shows that they are not alone. | | | |

There are lots of things that football do for certain events or causes some which I agree with and some that I am less enamoured with. Though I am not going tonight, it would be nice if there was some recognition of support across our leagues and games at all levels this weekend for the plight of Ukraine whether it is putting the colours of the Ukraine flag on the screens before the start of the game or holding a minutes silence.
Though I do find the mobile lights thing a bit cringeworthy if that is what people want to do then so be it. The one reason we are a better nation than Russia is that we do allow people to express themselves in their own way whether we all agree or not. Ukraine will soon not have that option, by no fault of their own. | | | |
