I used to see Alan Knight shopping in Waitrose with his missus in Waterlooville from time to time. We used to have a brief word and a bit of footy banter/a laugh. Nice fellah.
It's that old fu@ker prostate cancer yet again. I keep reading that cases are soaring in the UK and nobody seems to know why exactly. I'm 65 too, same age as Knight, and nowhere near as fit as he was or how he looked after himself even in later years. Does make you wonder... and worry.

Very sad, he seemed like a genuinely lovely bloke. He gave us a clap at his testimonial match, which was nice. And of course, unfortunately from his point of view, he features in one of the most iconic photos in Saints' history.
If you're in your 50s or older and you're often getting up in the night for pee, or if you're struggling to piss even though your bladder's full, get yourself to a doctor. It's probably nothing, but it's better to be safe than sorry. A PSA test probably saved my life. |  | | |

Met him a few times when I worked at Pompey In The Community, cracking bloke, funny, brutally honest and absolutely loved the club and would be there at the drop of a hat to support them.

There was a great turn out for his Testimonial just a shame that he had to come out at the end of the game and plead with the Pompey supporters to behave & go home.
We were locked in behind the goal looking over the top of the stand watching hundreds of Pompey supporters waiting to get at us.
We were kept in until the police , police dogs & police horses had dispered the trouble makers.
Thre were young kiddies in there with us that were getting very scared & upset.
But at least we had it was good evening. | | | |

That's the problem I'm afraid, separating the decent people associated with Portsmouth FC and the knuckle draggers who want to cause problems with people associated with Southampton and to a lesser degree those who reckon the bad feeling is due to a made up Dock Strike. | | | |

Proof, if any were needed that although it’s a pain in the rear end, it’s better that our meetings with them are reciprocal bubble fixtures.

Good luck with getting a test, especially a regular one. Last month the government withdrew the Prostate Cancer Risk Management Programme with immediate effect. This basically means that if you have no symptoms of prostate cancer, you no longer have the right to a test. This is despite the fact that most men with early stage prostate cancer have no symptoms at all. Now you can ask for a test but it is entirely up to your GP to decide whether you get one or not, based on whether they think it's worth the cost or not. | | | |
