Over the past decade I have slowly lost touch with the England football team and find it hard to connect with it.
I support them and hope they win, but just find that it is detached from what an international team should be in my opinion. |  |

I agree, Wints. This break is a much needed recovery period for most of our squad, but not for Arsenal's as they are all internationals.
I'm looking forward to the England v Uruguay game on Friday and seeing, amongst others, Valverde. Quite a few Saints fans will be going.

I’m old enough to remember the men actually winning something so I salute the patriotic faithful.
As for Saints’ aspirations, it’s probably come at a good time. The players involved will be fired up and looking forward. Those not involved will be, hopefully, put to productive work to aspire to greater things.

Im 6 blocks down from you in 112, (still have 2 spares for Friday), but as you know there are loads of empty seats as tickets are just scanned for friends and nobody goes in to the stadium to watch the match.

I quite like not being that bothered about England because it means I can watch football and be more relaxed about it than I am when I’m watching Saints.
It also gives me a chance to see Saints players lining up for Norn Iron and the Republic of Ireland etc. (and praying that they don’t get injured).
Leo will be getting another couple of weeks off and we’ll need him to be firing on all cylinders for some tough games coming up.
The same goes for Ross Stewart. A lot of our players will actually be able to have a rest instead of getting worn out from travelling and playing. |  |

I used to go in the home end, but I prefer to sit nowadays. Anyway, looking forward to this one. The last time I saw Uruguay, they were away to Saudi Arabia and they lost. | |

What a bore fest tonight. What is the point? Saints have to play 3 games in a week, for an England reserve team to play a friendly in a half empty Wembley. So many players have pulled out, pretending to be injured. The domestic fixtures are far more important. A stupid friendly, which makes it difficult for the domestic fixtures to be played and for what? An England reserve team to have a kick about. | |
