We actually go into our next games with our heads even higher after that performance, we aren't scared of anyone after taking the top 2 teams on and almost beating both.

I was also at Waterloo when the police escorted the Pompey fans through. There were about 100 of them and an equal number of police to escort them past the Saints fans.
Pompey's away support is incredibly young. Their average age was about 16. They certainly took some stick. "We've been to Wembley; you've been to Stoke." Once the police had managed to get them past all the Saints' fans, they took them through a gate and kept them on one of the platforms as the main area in front of the gates was full of Saints fans.
The Man City tifo of the Gallagher brothers was a bit naf.
Somebody blew up a hell of a lot of yellow and blue balloons in our half. The first half was very cagey.
Azaz's goal was very well taken, but a bit against the run of play. The elation in the minutes after he scored was the highlight of the day.
Peretz had the Doku shot covered, but it took a deflection, which took it out of his reach.
The Nico Gonzalez goal was a worldie and probably the best goal he'll score in his life, but it was telegraphed. You could see him getting ready to take the shot as if it was in slow motion. He had acres of space and no Saints players tried to close him down and block it. I guess they were exhausted.
If our players manage to pick themselves up to go again against Ipswich on Tuesday night, they'll be doing very well. This end of season fixture pile-up is brutal.

That Doku deflected goal was a killer so soon after Azaz hit that strike what a celebration in that end afterwards tho!
To be fair Doku was the instigator for city getting back in front everything was going down his side, he must be a nightmare to play against
Leo didn’t have his best game and he does tend to throw himself down too easily. Right at the end he went by a city defender and should have carried on but didnt fool the ref

I'm pretty sure I was on the same train as them, didn't hear a peep out of them going home
Annoying that we had to wait for a load of gobby nippers to get an escort through the station, still bouncing up and down and shouting "come on" behind a police escort is probably seen as some kind or result these days.
Dunno what was more annoying, that delaying the trial home by half an hour or being stuck next to some pissed up old boilers moaning about why they didn't understand what was going on, [Post edited 26 Apr 7:57]

‚a bit‘ against the run of play is generous!...but who cares, WHAT a goal, from Jander‘s first tackle to the glorious finish. One of the great Wembley goals.
And, yes, the Gonzalez goal was telegraphed and two people next to me were shouting ‘Larin!‘ as he stood statuesque. The crowd were milliseconds in front of him in terms of the danger but it was enough. I think I saw Bellis remonstrating with him too. But...when you’re under that level of pressure from that type of quality for that length of time, it ain’t going to be perfect.
The mood on here matches the mood on the day. Nothing but pride. SO much better than the last two semi-finals. We held them for 75 minutes, forced them to bring reinforcements and then took the lead.

Yesterday was a reminder to me of why semi-finals shouldn't be played there
Loads of empty seats in the City end, perhaps down to apathy of so many times they've played there in the last few years
I have to say City seem to be a shell of a club nowadays, lots of very southern Mancunians I encountered yesterday who seemed pretty indifferent to the game and result on the tube back to Waterloo | |

On 79 minutes the roof came off Wembley! That goal from Azas sent everyone to dreamland. So close to big upset, but immensely proud of the performance.
We can discuss, their goals and 'what ifs' and if things went slightly different we could have won, but at the end of the day, after the last few years of decline we can be proud saints fans again.

It was a magnificent and proud day for this football club. Walking down Wembley Way to see the hordes of yellow shirts and flags was magnificent. We outnumbered them, outsang them and played with heart.
Feeling so proud of my club, but a bit p!ssed off that a club that has already won the Caraboa cup, will win the league, has terrible fans who couldn't care a less, get another FA Cup final. We were about 10 minutes away from a monumental result, but it was cruely taken away. | |

What a difference 12 months makes.
We were a joke of a club and an embarrassment this time last season primarily caused by money pinching and bad management decisions.
Now look where we are. Everyone is throwing deserved plaudits at us both before and after the game. Nobody wants to play us in the play offs (do we really think 2nd? Well possibly but ......), and just watching the full re run of the beeb programme yesterday now and it's tears to the eyes with pride. The smiles on the faces of Shearer and Walcott shows what the club still means to the pair of them though you can hardly hear what they or Rooney and Richards are saying because of the noise and atmosphere being created by the yellow wall!
Fantastic day out and great pride in our club again

I thought jander was great the first time verbally understood the hype he gets.
Peretz was good and made some key saves, although he still seems to do one crazy thing per match. I don't remember keepers like flowers or niemi doing that.
Finn's goal was fantastic, personally I thought far better than city's winner. He turned fully away from goal, and without looking curled a beautiful finish into the net. City's was a great strike but had none of the subtlety.
The fans reaction was epic, utter pandemonium.
Im not quite in the Leo fan club. He went down too easily too often, and he gave the ball away many times with casual flicks when we needed to hold it.
The fans were brilliant and dominated the whole occasion. I hope this is carried on to the remaining home games because let's not fool ourselves the atmosphere at the last 2 games was absolutely terrible. |  | | |

Agreed. Jander yesterday was my MOTM. Azaz scored the goal and was superb too, but Jander was absolute class. Bree was another unsung hero and thought Wood and Wellington also did great jobs.

St Mary's has terrible acoustics. Nearly every other stadium, including Wembley, is better for making a noise.
I assume Barr used materials and design to reduce 'noise pollution' to the local area in order to overcome planning concerns. Even Sunderland, who were renowned for the noise at Roker, suffer from the Barr design factor. | |
