For me early impressions are that hes an upgrade on Baz.
Positives
He looks confident and commands his area.
dosent look like a little boy in goal.
Has only conceded 1 goal in 3 games.

I agree. I was sceptical because of his lack of experience and initially he was quite erratic, but he looks like a natural goalkeeper and an improvement on both Bazunu and McCarthy. Many have likened him to Boruc. I'm glad we got him. [Post edited 1 Feb 12:01]

Having watched the extended highlights from yesterdays game it was noticeable to be how vocal he is which is a massive positive
It also gives the defenders confidence in him
Most goalkeepers have a mistake in them at our level, but if he just makes the saves that you'd expect a professional to make that will be an improvement imo
A couple of those saves yesterday were excellent, at the risk of having a go at Bazunu I can't remember many times I left the ground thinking that he'd won us a game or got us a draw through his performance |  |

They all do. Any keeper is human and the first howler will see the knives out but a clean sheet means at worst a point. You need a decent keeper. Peretz looks like he fits the bill. He fills the goalmouth better than Baz and expands when the ball is coming rather than shriveling up as Baz seemed visibly to do. A yes from me. |  |

He seems like a noisy character which I like. He’s got something about him.
Two great saves yesterday I expect some didn’t realise he tipped one onto the post which was difficult to see without the replay.
I would like to see him command his area better from corners etc . I’m sure that will come. Yes an upgrade for sure. |  |

At least he comes out of his goal for crosses, which neither McCarthy nor Bazunu were doing. Sometimes you think, where's he off to? But, I'd rather that than a goalkeeper who just stays glued to his line. He appears to have one quality which is essential for a good goalkeeper: bravery. [Post edited 1 Feb 16:53]

As a team, we have a massive issue with defending corners.
I thought with a new Keeper, things may change, but alas, so far, no. The new Keeper is still part of this issue, with often poor positioning and not being able to command his 6 yard box. When I saw the error against Doncaster in the FA Cup, the free header against Hull that he came for and missed and perhaps the scrambled hand of cod against the Skates, I have at times wondered why we signed him. To be fair though, he is slowly getting used to working in our team and certainly seems to organise the defence a bit more than past keepers and he has pulled off some top saves.
Baz has 3 top saves this season that spring to mind (others may remember more) - Wrexham and Millwall H + A. Peretz has 2 so far, both v Stoke
Let's see what happens between now and the end of the season, but for me so far, he is slightly ahead of Baz, but I expect him to move further ahead as the season progresses. |  |

His distribution was better at Stoke but he almost cost a goal by missing the ball completely and at times he get too cocky, once we went backwards with his foot on the ball and seemed to be goading the opposition to come and get it.
All I am going to say on this is that if Bazunu had had exactly the same last 4 games as Peretz has had he would be getting pelters for the goals conceded and for almost missing the ball. |  |

Why did you rarely if ever point out Bazunu's mistakes Nick?
You thought he was good enough for us . I'd guess about 95% of fans thought differently.
Also why would anyone expect Peretz to be perfect?
If he was any better he'd likely be at a Premier league or a starter at a Bundesliga club.
He's decent clearly but has flaws , but is definitely an upgrade on Baz . | | | |
