| 5 Things About West Ham 09:42 - Apr 3 with 4261 views | SaintNick | 1. Getting into the ground was awful, through airport style gates and then metal detected in the front and back, it took 15 minutes to get through this and this was just to get on the outer concourse, you don't have this at other London grounds, so why this one, it wasn't even that efficient, women put their hand bags on a table and these weren't scanned. 2. The atmosphere was terrible, it was like watching football in a morgue, if ether set of fans sang anything it just floated out of the stadium, you couldnt hear the Saints fans in the upper tier behind us let alone West Ham fans. 3. VAR is used in the wrong way, it should be set a time limit of 60 seconds, if it can't tell in that time then a decision has to stand, it has to be clear and obvious. 4. 1 hr 40 mins on a so called fast train from Southampton to Waterloo, back in 1895 the train time for the same journey was an hour and 5 minutes, its a shambles 5. If we had Van Dijk and Fonte in this side we would not be in trouble but up in the top10 | |

No way would we be 10th with Fonte and Van Dyke, unless they both chipped in with 10 goals each from set pieces, the attack is far more of a problem than our defence. however 38 0-0’s would just about make us safe from relegation

A tip for fans whenever they visit the London Stadium again, is to go to and from game via Pudding Mill Lane DLR. 10mins walk from away end. Get train one stop back to Stratford one stop, where you avoid all the queues and 25 to 30 min walk. Yesterday stayed until the game and was back at Waterloo 40 mins after final whistle

I used that station for the ABBA hologram thing when I went last year. The holograms have since moved on from ABBA and formed our attack yesterday

Selles probably said "what do you mean take a chance, knowing me knowing you, we're not going to create any chances". At the end while I was heading back to Waterloo, no doubt Moyes was singing the winner takes it all. That after all, is the name of the game.
| 5 Things About West Ham on 12:34 - Apr 3 with 2721 views | BLEEDRED | Many blame the players, I don't if RS sets up the team to play that way you cannot win games. Play your B team players and hope you can get to half-time 0-0 (it's not worked so far) then bring on your A team in the second half and hope you can nick a goal. If he has started the game with the players that finished the game we might have won (might!!). The team play slow build up football that is down to the management/coaching team. Yet another game with no counter-attacks, you have to be very lucky to just hoof the ball into the box from the bye line and hope a Saints player can get on the end of it. West Ham were there to be taken, the first 20Â mins showed that their fans were starting to get on their backs, so we gift them a goal and there is very little chance we will score from open play. Start the front players that finished the game and who knows??? | | | |

The oppo know that they can let us waste our energy on the ball in midfield, while Mara prances around haplessly like a dancing queen, sweating less than a malnourished ant. They then only need 2 or 3 chances to score at the other end.

Number 5 - Spot on there. Still happy clappy fans at the end of the game, smiling away with their cardboard cut outs, asking for a shirt. We were happier than the West Ham fans at the end. They demand more as a fan base than we do. Not any anger (and therefore passion and concern) about the terrible way we have been treated this season and before. We are going down, and most of the fans seemingly don't care. [Post edited 3 Apr 2023 13:57]

This has been coming for a while. Lack of investment, poor manager selections and buying too many kids to try and make a quick buck have seen us slide. Strange team selections seem to be the norm for our managers. Djenepo at left back Walcott, Mara and Elyounoussi starting. It’s become a soap opera.

So how does booing the players after the final whistle when they come over to the travelling support and shouting at them to fcuk off help.? As one of the "happy clappy" fans at the end i can assure you no one was happy with the result , or the way the season has panned out. I think you are doing the vast overwhelming majority of supporters a disservice.

Do you not think that by clapping defeat after defeat gives the message that it's ok, that we arn't annoyed or angered by it? Would you go to a restaurant and accept a terrible meal time and time again and not show your dissatisfaction? Is it acceptable to you that players just stand there and leave players unmarked in the box, game after game, after game? Do they deserve to be cheered off the pitch do you think, when they keep making the same errors and keep playing so lethargically in big games? Defeat to League Two Grimsby was a disgrace. Do you not think PL players on 100 grand a week playing players on 1 grand a week (if they are lucky) deserve any criticism for such an avoidable and embarrassing defeat? Did you clap that performance too? And the defeat to 10 men Wolves in a vital games when we just collapsed pathetically. By the way, I think you have every right to clap players if you want to, but I can't for the life of me understand how you think such appalling performances deserve it. It's not improving results is it? I'm too genuinely hurt and annoyed by the defeat to stand there happy and smiling, because I'm not happy! You don't clap and smile when you are annoyed do you, surely? These questions arn't just directed at you personally either, but all of those fans seemingly happy, smiley and clapping another dreadful inept defeat that probably sends us down. How can anyone smile and be happy, when its such doom. [Post edited 3 Apr 2023 21:19]

When people ask me why I often leave games early, the main reason why I cannot be doing with staying until in the end is the thought of seeing brainless muppets clapping them off at the final whistle when they have been terrible. I saw it at Villa away earlier this season, and it drove me insane. If you applaud crap, you will given it in spades. The whole club needs a reset. Including the fanbase.

Totally agree Pat. I'm all for fans getting behind the team and pushing them on when they are giving their all. But blimey clapping defeats to Grimsby and defeats in vital games, where we have barely laid a glove, leaves me baffled. I can't stand it either.

Fella, did some of our lot really clap them off after that pathetic no show?, they really need to have a word with themselves, boo and throw rotten fruit at the underperforming lightweights would have been a better idea. Apparently (I left at HT so can't confirm as true) after the 9-0 loss to Leicester some clapped the players off that night, honestly what's wrong with them. If you were useless at your well paid job for the last 9 months, would you expect your boss to give you a clap and say well done?

Fair enough, i get it . You're angry. I'm angry. I thing the hierarchy at the club aren't idiots and know that its unacceptable and don't need a few people booing to tell them the bleeding obvious. I don't share an emotional attachment to any restaurant. I would certainly complain and if the restaurant continued to serve up terrible meals they would go out of business and close. I wouldn't want to see SFC go out of business and close. It's not acceptable that players are unmarked time after time in our box. It can't help that we have had so many different combinations of centre backs this season. Even so. We should do better. Defeat to Grimsby was hugely disappointing. But i would say only maybe 4 of the starters that night would be in my starting line up. I don't think many of that team are on anywhere near 100k a week. The club hugely underestimated Grimsby and got what they deserved. I didn't clap that performance , but i didn't boo. Wolves simply outplayed us. Their manager went for it , ours didn't. Clapping players doesn't necessarily improve players, but if booing players did , we would have a team of world beaters. Don't assume that everybody is happy by clapping the players at the end of a game. Far from it. Was it the booing against Saints that got Everton the win against Arsenal . Or was it the fact that they appointed a decent manager who knew what he was doing. At the end of the day we all show different ways of supporting the club. Who's to say who is right.

I was at the game Saturday and I didn't boo. They wouldn't have heard me if I did. But I certainly didn't clap them. In my view, you clap to say well done. I can't say well done to those bottlers, when it's undeserved. They arn't giving blood, sweat and tears. Everton players were booed and even stopped on the street in their cars. This can be interpreted as passion, love, and care for the club. The Everton players responded in the next game. Just maybe they thought "f@ck, we have a responsibility to these passionate fans, it means the world to them, we need to get our finger out". It didn't harm them, despite the new manager. In my view a kick up the backside is needed sometimes, not constant well done when it's not deserved. Then there's many of our fans just standing there clapping and smiling. That breeds laziness and acceptance in my view. [Post edited 3 Apr 2023 22:20]
