Even game.

Hull look better at passing the ball through the lines than we do. Their keeper is very good with his feet.

Manning is absolute dog shite. No surprise the goal came from his side. The good news is that he is now banned for Preston, having got his 5th booking of the season.

Alcaraz not getting much joy. It might be a game for Che…

If the clown is insisting on continuing to play Manning because he's his mate having pushed Perraud out, then the whole thing stinks as Manning is rubbish.

A good win
But not beating Rotherham at home negates it

I watched the game & we were very poor.
Same old, slow build up & no penetration up front.
There's no way AA should be captain, he shouldn't even be playing.
The only two positives to come out of the game were.
1) 3 points
2) Ryan Manning is now suspended & misses the next game.
Sorry to sound so negative but this squad should be capable of playing much better, there were so many players today that were far too casual & lacking commitment or energy.

A good away win. Yes, it could have gone either way, but we ground out a positive result and there’s no better feeling than being on the right side of a last minute winner. 5th in the league despite all the negativity and supposedly being shit 🤷‍♂️

You're right Grumps.
The the problem is our Full backs.
Manning is just not good enough & KWP doesn't offer enough defensively, he's too busy going forward & he doesn't track back.
But we also look lightweight in attack.
AA is so frustrating, it's like watching a schoolboy playing, he just runs up blind alleys & gives the ball away so easily.

Spot on usual people still moaning and finding faults despite us getting a good win, with the bonus of a last-minute goal

We are way off being the finished article, but we seem to be improving week by week, try enjoying the victory, those who attended the game certainly did

I find it highly amusing that the biggest moaners and doom merchants are those that don’t actually go to games. Says it all really.

What I don’t find amusing is the same players making the same mistakes yet they still get picked each week whether I go every week or joy that’s just pathetic
A good win yes but we drew with Rotherham last time so lets not get too happy chappy

It seems that way Luggabugs!
I had a 05:45 alarm yesterday and returned at 23:45.
A grand day out in a right shithole.

Christ we won with a last minute winner!
Let’s for fûck sake be happy!! (Until we lose against Preston)

As mentioned the full backs…
Manning tries his best and that is all that can be asked if any of the players.
If they are not good enough is not their fault.
If selected you put a shift in.

The trouble is Manning is often left with little cover from the half hearted Sulemana in front of him.
I’m sorry but he just doesn’t want to be here.
He did zero yesterday in that game but seems to get away no grief from the fans.

Sooner he’s gone in January the better.
Even Mara seemed interested yesterday!!

Two good subs on the 69th minute subs Rusty.
Steadied the ship.

Anyway well done to all that travelled to Hull and back yesterday.
Fantastic support for the team and the manager.
And they delivered.
Get behind the team and the manager from the first whistle to the last and let’s kick on up the table.

WE MARCH ON 🔴⚪️

We played a lot better in the 2nd half after my initial critique at half-time.

Manning though 🙄, an example of what exasperates me with him….

I do actually recall Sulemana doing an excellent slide tackle block in the first-half down near our goal-line whilst Manning was missing about 20 yards higher up the pitch.

He was our main attacking outlet in the first-half, Hull couldn’t cope with his pace, there was just nobody in the middle to make the most of his crosses when he got to the byline.

Lochness Drogba might make a difference there.

I thought Edozie did very little.

Still, opinions eh? Makes it all such a wonderful game 👍

I was watching him during the game.
His whole demeanour is shot.
Going through the motions.

I’d much rather Edoize or Sam Amo-Ameyaw playing there who seem to want to be at the club.

Sulemana is fast, scored 2 v Liverpool though and has an excellent goal celebration.

I attended yesterday's match, the slight benefit being that is the closest EFL team to me - 22 miles - in fact it took longer to get out of the car park at the end than the drive to get to the ground.

I thought the starting line up was much as I expected.

Being impartial, I thought it was an entertaining, enjoyable game and there is nothing quite like the joy or good feeling that winning a game with virtually the final kick knowing that there is little opportunity for the opposition to bite back - though it is Saints and you can never be sure.

In truth the result could have gone either way. On balance I think we edged, especially in the 2nd half but both sides had opportunities and we gifted Hull two clear chances which they did not take. in fact you could say, the one thing that was common with both sides is their inability to capitalise on the chances they create.

Contrary to what some are saying on here, I thought Sulemana was playing quite well but there was no end product. Our forward play overall was good and we had plenty of attacking intent though there were spells of sideways, back passing which just allowed the opposition time to set up their 2 lines of defence. Most players I thought were putting in a shift. The two things that could have lost us the game were clear as they have been on many occasions - our inherent desire to play the ball around in our penalty box with an opposition player bearing down on you - it is an error waiting to happen - sometimes just clear the bl**dy thing. The second and potentially more costly is our inability to convert possession and chances into goals. We are just not clinical and incisive enough and rarely, if ever, take the opposition to the sword even when we get the lead - indeed, like yesterday after our first goal, we all too readily surrender the lead. Our inability to score more than 1 goal when we are on top is as costly as errors in defence.

Our midfield played well, our defence was not too bad but always felt vulnerable to Hull attacks. Bazunu had a good game apart from one moment. At first the substitutions did not seem to work but in the final minutes they made a difference. Onto Manning as many have commented about him. No one can question his desire and effort but at times, he just does not do the basics. He was at fault for Hull's goal because he gave the opportunity and too much space for their player to cross the ball. He had a poor first half but was better in the 2nd. I don't dislike the guy. I think he is an honest player doing the best he can but whether it is enough for a side that wants to challenge at the top end is a moot point. On corners - we were awful. Only one of our many corners offered a threat. Quite what was going on with the corners at the other side where the Ref kept delaying it I do not know but it brought much wry amusement.

Many of us could see the game being a draw or a Hull late winner. It was refreshing to see that we provided the killer finish.

The support was excellent yesterday. The fans really got behind the team even when it was not going our way and the excitement and celebration at the end was memorable. The players seemed to enjoy it and have a connection with the away support both during and at the end of the game.

I was there.

We lack a terrier in midfield someone who bites at ankles a Romeu or Terry Hurlock type. It’s too easy for opposing teams to come at us.

Sulemana played very well and got down the wing and crossed but too often there’s no one to put the ball in the net. Hopefully Ross Wilson will see to that when he eventually gets fit.

We dominated second half and deserved the win for not giving up.

We’re getting there. It was always going to take time and I could never understand those that wanted Martin out after only a handful of games.

Agree with everything said about Ryan Manning. Thankfully he'll miss PNE midweek.
In my opinion i thought Flynn Downes had his best game for us. My man of the match yesterday, closely followed by KWP. Can't agree about Sulemana and Alcaraz. Thought they both had decent games .
Hull surprised me . They had a couple of really good young players. And how good was Alfie Jones eh. Tall , commanding , didn't put a foot wrong. If only our acadamy could produce a young player like this...... Oh wait........
Good day out.

Going forward he CAN terrorise the opposition, if he’s in the mood.

As I said he gives Manning zero protection.
The Left Back often had 2 players to contend with.
It’s a hard enough job with 1.
