I dont think I have worn a coat since last March, aside from one visit to St Mary's when I wore a heavy duty zip up top thing, all i have done this winter seems to be go to the shops in the car so not bothered with a coat

No coat? And there’s me thinking Nick had scouse roots, not Geordie.

I'll be disappointed if 'Coat News' doesn't become a regular feature on this forum.

I've needed a coat throughout autumn and winter for my weekly 4-5 mile walks with family at the weekend, the only time apart from shopping I've been able to leave the house, apart form a couple of games at ST Mary's and one at Salisbury, since October. My Peter Storm walking coat has served me well

I haven't worn a coat or anything other than shorts since 11th March 2020.

Even on walks I've had shorts (I don't feel the cold in my legs) and just a hoodie if it's a bit chilly like today.

Just been out for a run in shorts and t shirt and I was fine till I got home and then it hit me. Jeez, it is cold! Still, would rather cold weather than it being too hot.

Shortly going round to see my parents and am either wearing my duffle coat or a parka.

Also, this must be the only football forum in the country that doesn't spend ages discussing big coats

I wore gloves on my morning run for the first time ever. I felt like I should apologise to every footballer I’ve tutted and rolled my eyes at for similar conduct over the years.

The annual big coat reveal is a big deal on the Everton fans forum. The place turns into mums net as various links to websites are put up along with top tips around whether duck feather lining is the way to go.

I’ve not worn smart trousers for about 10 months. Shorts or trackies do the job nicely. Actually thoroughly dislike trousers.

I have a parka type down quilted coat for trips to Norway, which has proved a godsend these past few days. I have an old fashioned felt hat with fold down ear flaps and a woolen baseball style cap for winter use. Also some modern style black woolen long johns, again for Norway use have been brought into action this week. I have no shame. When I was younger, a stylish jacket and shirt (with trousers of course) was sufficient for all but the most challenging weather. Happy days.

For the last couple of years at work, I resorted to black jeans with a jacket, and kept a tie in the pocket in case anyone said I was scruffy. Retired for 3 years, I have stuck with black jeans, buying the cheapest in the sales and relegating the older ones to work jeans, then oil rags (Lambretta restoration).

My late older brother spent his last 40 years with a wardrobe consisting of grey, blue and black, on the basis that he could use any item of apparel with any other. he had one navy blue mac during that time. He was not married needless to say.

Always wanted one of those lumberjack ones as a kid. The coat of choice with a Raleigh Chopper, if I remember.

Ditto, aside from two walks this week around the sea wall to Keyhaven (which included today). Have to admit the howling wind coming off the Solent this week dictated no shorts on walks. Horrendous wind chill factor.

Ready and waiting to mop up those European places......

I had a Tacchini tracksuit top that I wore a lot in the 83/84 season, its frightening how long ago that was and if back in 1983 I talked to a man of my age now back then, about what he was wearing 38 years ago in the past he would probably have been describing his uniform in WW2

Sobering thought
