So according to “ footballmartin” another championship team has been named as spying during the season just gone. I have not heard this before, who could it be? Obviously I hope it’s Portsmouth or maybe Wrexham would be funny.

Be interesting to see what the punishment is. To be as harsh as we got it will need to be at least -30 starting point or relegation to L1.
It would be funny if they discovered half a dozen more doing it - the tip of the iceberg. As Pochettino said, it's no big deal and normal in other countries. It's just meticulous scouting. Teams willing to go the extra mile, literally.
Hopefully, cases of inside spying using undercover analysts to go to another club and find out information will also be revealed.

Yes, Steve Gibson's man on the EFL Board, Neil Bausor, probably has no interest in punishing other clubs, unless it benefits Middlesbrough in some way.

We've had the biggest punishment in British football history, so you would hope the FA would take a slightly different view on Tonda, but if they did chuck him out I think we should keep him as an unpaid advisor. He wouldn't be in football in any official capacity but his knowledge of the players and tactics would be invaluable.

What is it 10 years in the Championship for the smog? They are totally embedded, they’ve infiltrated the institution to the highest level. If Gibbon had focussed his energy and resources on building a decent squad rather then empire building and litigation, he might have a more satisfying existence.
Just how bad was what Tonda did? An important question which got lost in the orchestrated rush to judgment created by the EFL-Mboro Axis ably assisted by Sky and all the rest. Line up crimes from parking on a double yellow line all the way up to genocide and it is clear that Tonda's crimes moved rapidly up the scale from a semi-amusing and stupid jape deserving of a fine to something meriting the death penalty..
Everyone knows that cheating goes on the wbole time. Gibbon and all the rest of the hypocrites as paragons of virtue - yeah of course. I hope that as the dust settles a more measured view of how serious Tonda's crimes really were is properly established. The one remaining thing I'm angry about is how the Saints allowed a medium crime to become a dealth penalty offence in just a few days.

Tonda hasn’t committed any crimes, as far as I know.
Just an obscure EFL regulation that doesn't apply in other leagues or countries. Football managers have been contravening various rules for years. As Pochettino said, "It's no big deal." It's only Steve Gibson and his influential friends that managed to turn it into one.

Yes, what Steve Grant said was a bit stupid. He reckons that maybe Tonda didn't know it was illegal (!?) but then says we only did it because we didn't think we'd be caught. Well no, if we did it because we thought it was legal, why would we worry about being caught? It's pretty obvious we knew it was illegal.
Then he says that he knows "for a fact" that another club in the Championship does it because they didn't want to get involved when Boro contacted them. I can think of many reasons why a club wouldn't want to get involved. Pretty dumb to say "for a fact" that they were spying too. It's possible, but really there's no evidence at all. The only evidence we have is that of all the hundreds or thousands of ex employees out there, coaches, staff and players, no one has come forward to earn some money by telling what they know. The only whistleblower is ex SFC. Why would that be if this was happening at other clubs? If just one person comes forward and speaks then that might be a reason to think it happens. Until then, it's wishful thinking by Saints fans.
It's a good podcast, but sometimes it sounds like Steve Grant could do with a brain upgrade.

Unlikely as they aren't employed by the club or instructed to do it by the club
I could be wrong but I think this was what Parsons tried to claim, that Salt was acting as a "lone wolf"

The offence does not specify the importance of the game, so the punishment for spying against say Oxford in a mid season game should be the same as spying against Boro in a play off semi
