Just hope it works out with him.
Couldn't bear to see a legend get ripped apart by our fans.

Bare bones.

I got the impression yesterday that this was meant to be a done deal, yet there has been no confirmation of Gareth being appointed.

Perhaps the negoiations are taking longer/are harder than expected, but surely they need to be concluded asap so that both clubs can start organising for the weekend.

Or is there the possibility that he will turn us down? What would the club do if that was the case?

It’s his medical that’s stalling the deal.

They are questioning his mental health.

Interesting note here, according to that article our shortlist in the summer was Beale, Ainsworth, and Appleton (who didn't exactly do brilliantly at Blackpool this season, despite beating us at LR)

Ditch the leather jacket.

Ainsworth has gone on record to say the leather jacket symbolises his individuality and his belief in personal freedom.

Ah no that was Nic Cage in Wild At Heart. As you were.

The whole attractive football thing is a strange one. I actually think the best football we played over past x amount of years was under Di Canio. Quick and attractive possession football, it was brief though.

Our most successful sides have been fairly straightforward, though great fun. Gerry was all about getting ball wide and crosses in, whether it was full backs or wingers.

Olly was hitting target man (generally Furs) and playing off.

Warnock was getting it to Taarabt and making things happen.

There was obviously a bit more to it than that. But no way would you call our 3 best teams of last 30 years (1993, 2004, 2011) progressive. What they each had was a superb work ethic sprinkled with talent (Ollie, Barker, Penrice with Wilkins, Les and Wilson as an example). This is where I'm confident we'll move to, if Ainsworth keeps us up. Because at the moment there isn't enough steel or bollocks in this team.

If we get a couple of wins, it will be a very different recruitment process in the summer for next season in the Champ. 2 x Wingers, 2 x CM ball winners, Big man and little man up top. 4 arseholes in defence. We'll be okay.

Whisper it quietly but Brentford are doing pretty well in the prem using a’direct’ style. Getting the ball up quickly to Toney, using wingers and crosses, maximising set plays. A lot of current coaches are not used to playing against these tactics.

Come omn mate, they need to sort Gareth's band out - they're writing a new song about it and the reveal is a live concert at LR.
Can't do that in 24 hours.

Watched their game against Palace ( they are slipping down the table under "nice guy" Viera ) and they deserved to win going away .However they fell behind and when it looked like a lost cause they pulled out a point with a superb direct goal.
There were 2 players waiting to run through fire to head in that brilliant cross so if that is route 1 QPR should do it right away
Sadly we look to have abandoned wing play and forget crossing nobody can beat the first man so its not happening.
Even if Dykes and Martin are battering defenses together we have no supply right now something has to change ASAP

That Barnsley team from a couple of seasons was quite enjoyable to watch, and a bugger to play against - let's try some o' that.

Unfortunately it relied on a level of pressing, closing down and running into space which is pretty hard to imagine from our current squad of players. They also had enough good forward players so they could switch the front three at half time to keep it up for the whole game.

Yes, they've adapted their MO to suit the circumstances. It is hilarious when people claim we're following the Brentford model, which in reality means Les sitting in his office with his 'manager algorithm'. Bless.

Yeah fair points - I was going to put a bit of a caveat in along those lines but decided to go for full on aspirational

Wycombe supporters rate Dobson very highly and seem just as disappointed that he’s leaving the club. Apparently he’s been responsible for new signings at the club during most of Ainsworth’s tenure.

Another nail in the coffin for Sir Les and a complete departure from the DOF structure?

Apparently that Dean Holden link yesterday came up because at one stage it looked like Dobson would be staying at Wycombe and becoming the manager, not coming here, which threatened to blow the whole deal up because Ainsworth wouldn't come without him, Holden was the back up. But Wycombe are going for Bloomfield from Colchester now so...

I think what Ainsworth and Dobson will do is put a few smiles back on the faces of not only the fans but the players too. Probably stereotyping here but Critchley, Garrity and the other bloke seemed … dour? Actually very excited about Dobson, from what I’ve read/heard he’s articulate, progressive, a good set-piece coach and if it’s true about him being a boyhood QPR fan that’s the icing on the cake.

Wouldn’t be at all surprised if this isn’t the beginning of the end for Les.

Football's a simple game too much over thinking in my opinion. QPR's problem is not getting the ball forward quickly enough. We need a more direct style as we spend most of the time from me to you, you to me in our own half. By the time the ball gets anywhere near the opposition box they have most of their outfield players in defence. I hope Ainsworth if it is him as manager gets us on a more offensive straight through style. Got to find a way to get Chair to lay ball off quickly through the middle, he is wasted on the left in my opinion.

One reason for him to move on from WW is that they sold Mehmeti to Brizzle.

Just when he had moulded Mehmeti into keeping his flair but adding gritt to his game (so, he does not end up like Tarbs and get mistreated).

Just like he did with Eze, you have to run back! Hopefully he will install that in Chair and also we have seen his view on Wingers is early cross all the time.

Which is working for Smyth at Orient (when he's fit of course).

zzzzzzzzzz
