6.10pm leave form Southampton, so this judging by previous train trips down this should get to Fratton around 7.45pm in ground for half time

Mmmm.

The train could just be held back in between stations though.

And then we could be held at Fratton for a fair while to wait for a police escort.

Memories of 2005 here....

If it is going Southampton straight to Fratton, there aren't many places it can be held back without getting in the way of regular services and causing a huge bottleneck

I think it was held back more to do with having to stop at Fareham etc, this one is straight through

So 2 extra trains going consisting of 16 coaches and only one extra returning of 8 coaches, meaning there will be many people having to catch the same trains as Skates heading towards Fareham .... what could possibly go wrong?

Or are the police expecting to be arresting 8 carriage loads of Saints Fans, who wont be needing return transport?

What is the 3rd train ?
It says 3, but I only see 2, one 8 carriage train at 6.10pm going there direct, and one back at 10.34pm also 8 carriage, and also one earlier back stopping at other skate stations (so not really suitable for saints fans and what use would it be when saints fans boarded at soton anyway)

Representin the Polygon Yoof cause we ain't all students ya know.

I’m thinking of getting an earlier train for Joe Public before the game.

I’m not sure I trust the dibble to either:-

- not delay the Football Special train
- not delay the horseback-led police escort to the ground once the train arrives at Fratton

Or indeed both....

The Football Special will undeniably be handy after the game though.

There will be some I think but most people these days (even the thick ones )realise that with cctv and police cameras everywhere if they cause trouble they are likely to get a door knock further down the line and probably a banning order . Is it worth it ?

Only the most brainless of cretins will try and cause trouble at this one. The police will have it tied up. I still look forward to the fairytails of derring-do after the event though.

Get to Eastleigh and go via Hedge End, Fareham, etc. Got to be more reliable.
