Mackie needs to get more fitness. He was running out of energy towards the end :-) Yes there was some more fight to the team, but really, what else could we expect. The problem, however, is not the inability to score, which we all know about but the slowness of the passing. This is what put me to sleep with the Sunderland game (and that was at 7 in the morning). Villa must have seen the midweek game as they new exactly what was happening and took advantage of it. Still do not like either Bosingwa or SWP, but today they had some good points. Taarabt was poor in the first half and I actually thought he may have been subbed at the break. Still, his one real effort towards the left corner post in the first half was something to remember. As we all asked with MH, what is the story with Ale? Finally, hope Mbia is okay.

Lots to like about the performance but disappointing that all the possession did not yield more scoring chances. With hindsight I wonder if we should have brought on Cisse. For a change we spent a lot of time in the opposition end, and that's what he thrives on.

Under MH, not very good and not very lucky. Under Harry today, good but still not very lucky.

Very disappointing we sounded very poor on the radio. Fair play to those who went.

Great performance by Mackie. However, he must cut down on being caught offside

Surprise team selection but 10/10 for effort. Much improved performance from Bosingwa & SWP

Adel poor 1st half but very good 2nd.

On the negative side. What is wrong with Granero? Didn't look interested and rightly taken off.

Shame about the injuries as it upset our rhythm and stopped any chance of Cisse playing off Mackie, which would have been interesting.

With regard to AF lack of pace in the defence is a worry and Mbia & Diakite are much better at getting back. Derry is probably better at holding the position in front of the back four. After Granero's non show recently maybe Ali will get a chance in a more attacking role.

One thing was made crystal clear yesterday: Something has to happen come January! 1: We need to bring in an experienced keeper that can handle the pressure of playing in the PL. 2: We MUST bring in a central defender with a bit more pace and composure than those we got. Both Yoshida and Fonte could do well alongside another quality defender, but the two of them together just isn't what is required at this level. 3: PACE! We must have someone with real pace, both up front and on the wings, if we are to pose any threat on the counterattack. And lets face it; countering will be our only weapon in most of our away fixtures this season. On the upside, Gastón really looks to be the real deal! Just needs to learn not to try and do everything by himself. The two youngsters, Clyne and Shaw will be real quality with just a bit more experience. Anyways, hope we absolutely murder Reading next Saturday! COYR!

Gary Lineker noted on MoTD that Harry had yet to Light The Blue Touch Paper

Lighting Blue Touch Paper is only relevant if executed before 5th November; it's now 2nd December...

It's Honeymoon period, but this marriage is Quick Wedding, Short Honeymoon, get home and fix the house. We're already boarding Easyjet back to Luton

From Team Selection it seems clear that Harry wants to try out everyone in Match conditions -so we are no closer to finding our best XI or best formation.

Seems to me Cisse couldn't come on because of Diakite's enforced substitution

But where is Faurlin ? - more effective and committed than Granero - not even on the bench.

Ozranger's observation on Mackie's fitness is way off track; try running for 90 minutes, up front, on your own, flat out. He's fit OK

Next up, Wigan away - after which there are 22 games left. Oh me of little faith - let's prepare for relegation, gratefully trouser the parachute payments - and get straight back up.

Well the Mayan 2012 calendar didn't work out - yet; let's hope I'm a similar failure as the Prophet of Doom

Awful, woeful performance. The only player wearing a Dale shirt yesterday was Rhys Bennett.
The football that is being played is nothing short of atrocious. Three incredibly weak goals; I try and support the team and not complain anymore otherwise I would just be another "Mr Angry", as its counterproductive, but even I bellowed my head off when that first goal went in!
In the end of the day, last season Coleman stated in inteview "Its my team that has gone down". If you use those words, then you are stating you are to blame. He inherited a very bad situation that Eyre left behind so gave him his due. But Im sorry, my patience is now running out. Under HillCroft, he was bringing in players that may have started average, and they were developed, and maybe sold on for a good fee. Who in our current team would you sell on? There is no development at the club at present. And that is very worrying. Fans in the Sandy no longer "go ape" when we score, its like watching pre season friendlies. The atomsphere round the ground is fading.
There are two possiblities here. We bring in fresh players in January and give Coleman till the end of the season, or we sack him. But to be honest the style of football is awful...

Was surprised by the line up.Especially Mackie up front but he was OK. Yet again performance was patchy, Grenaro in particular just spluttering along. V surprised and a bit annoyed to see SWP on from the start, was there no alternative. He was a bit better than before & should have scored with only the goalie to beat. More all round effort, which is to be expected under a new manager,Boswinga in particular was much improved and several times realy put in maximum plus effort.
Tonight is seems that both injured players are OK,what a relief as Mbia & Diakite were our best players. Adel a bit quiet, nelesen ,a rock as usual,Clint Hill ditto.
I was really disappointed with the result as I felt a win was essential not just for the points but for morale ,which will not remain perked up unless that win comes ASAP. beginning to contemplate relegation but really there is still lots of games,we simply need to become a quite different team. easy eh Harry!
On the way home I met a bloke who has been going to matches since 1943..amazing!

Improved performance, getting a little worried about Mbia and Diakite though, both players look like they're one tackle away from either being sent off or injured, especially Mbia who for a big bloke, needs to man up.
