A shambles enlivened but not excused by one moment of magic. Our much prized cohesion has been torn apart by the tinker man. Much more of this and he'll become the stinkerman!

JWP is clearly under a cloud of fan disillusionment and sinking ever deeper into the morass. How much more he has to offer Saints after all this time is open to debate but he needs to wake up and start making a difference soon or his Premier League career will be over.

I felt very low at half-time. Having Boufal and Tadic as song and dance men on either wing was the only thing worthy of note in the first half. Great goal and a great miss by JRod right at the end. The low quality of the whole thing was emphasized by the fact that Redmond came on at half-time and improved us!!

With all the bad news off the pitch this was a welcome and vital three points. Next three are tough matches and we musn't be fooled by beating a woeful Middlesbrough. We still have problems.

Two very good defences against two very poor attacks had 0-0 draw written all over it but another magical goal from Boufal came like a bolt out of the blue to give us the win. It was like the Sunderland League Cup game all over again.

The highlight for me was watching 2 of the best central defensive pairings in the league playing flawlessly, apart from that sly van Dijk shirt tug, which saved a goal but could easily have seen him sent off. McQueen played very well again and already looks at least as good as Bertrand.

I wish the goalkeeping coach would leave Forster alone. He is now spending far too much time thinking where to place his kicks and opposition managers are going to take advantage of that.

Another good performance by perhaps our best defensive line up. Martina gave a solid performance and still managed to put in some excellent crosses. Thankfully I missed the first half and therefore I can't join the moaners on here.
Puel has changed the team and tactics regularly yet some say he still has to change and others that he is tinkering. RK abandoned the POX method of pressing and relied on solid defense and counter attacks. It's time to get behind all the team and management.
Superb Boufal strike, many more please

A stale first half of very limited chances though JWP nearly gifted them a goal, only desperate goalline defending by VVD and JF saved the day. This was typical of the recent games uninspiring and lacking finish. The 2nd half produced much more desire to win the passing was better and the chances increased . we should have won by a much greater margin sadly we didnt take the chances we made. wonder goal from Boufal you just find it very hard to suggest who might score the next one.

It does seem that the Boufal goal was deflected and that explains why the goalie didn't move. Well needed goal anyway.

We are so boring to watch this season, that it's hard to keep focused on the match for 90 minutes. A win of course makes that easier to take, but the fun is missing and it is hard to imagine what this will make to the fastest grwoing brand in Football. If it is that boring there can't be many costumers worldwide who would want to follow this.
JWP and Rodriguez were again the greatest culprits in showing they are not up to it, but unfortunately the rest was not that much above it. A deflected shot luckily saved us when we again did not look like we could ever score. The defence of course was again solid and even managed to prevent JWPs best try to give them a goal...
But well, to change a game we even have our own Thierry Henry to come on, who manages to get a goal or assist every 551 minutes.

It may not sound like it, but of course I'm very happy about the three Points - but for sure not with the entertainment...

Whenever I want a laugh I think of the time over the summer when someone on here predicted that our strikers would get 50 goals between them this season!
