Missed Yoshi today. Relieved is the feeling. Glad to say goodbye to this season. No need to highlight saints' flaws but really disappointed at the boscombe play acting. Not what I'd expect from a team led by Eddie Howe who is a very good egg.

There were some excellent moments in the game that showed the players gad lost the ball on chain fear of relegation. Alby was superb (a player I have often critiqued) however Hamilton was to me mammoth. Ebanks was also superb and big Jim appears to have lost years

Blitzed them from the off and should really have been 3 up before Bourn scored with their first attack. How we missed so many early chances is beyond me, especially Long hitting the post from 6 yards.

Brave of Howe to change things after 20 odd mins and after that they were in the ascendency.

More awful defending again let them get in front and later draw level and then nearly win it. So many frustrating miss-placed passes, ball watching, letting the ball bounce then not winning the header etc. We do so well to get in front, only to see stupid mistakes punished, where as we don't punish their many errors.

With the chances created, we still did enough to easily draw and probably win it, so with a clear out of 10+, buy 4 or 5 and a good preseason, we should be fine for next term.

When I chose to support Southampton (actually Southampton chose me in a sense) back in the mid-60s, I was a child without a care in the world. If I'd known then what agony I would suffer as a Saints fan, I might have gone for the easy option of Manure or one of the other biggies but I wouldn't have had half as much fun. But by God, my blood pressure! This was a great game for the neutral. We pounded a poor bunch of Cherries for the first 25 minutes with some sublime play but then they started to join in and it became a lot more difficult. For all the to and fro, I believe we were overall the better team and deserved to win but then Armstrong did what he did and the equaliser was inevitable. Having said that he was being hampered and had he gone down, he might have got a foul.
Yes, it was a fun game but it was seriously marred by Bournemouth's cheating when they were level and ahead. Funny how none of their players rolled in agony when they fell behind again. The play-acting to waste time with spurious injuries was disgraceful and the ref should have got a hold on it. It wasn't even subtle. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Bournemouth as friendly local rivals but after that display of shamateur dramatics, they've fallen a peg or several in my estimation. And golden boy Eddie Howe would have been perfectly happy with those tactics. Not impressed.
But Saints are safe (as, realistically, we have been for several weeks) so that doesn't matter too much but it still leaves a bit of a taste.

Very entertaining match. Saints really came flyingfrom the start like RH has taught them, and we could have lead 3-0 after 15 minutes and 5-0 after 20. Instead it was 1-1 after 20 minutes as Bournemouth, totally against run of play, suddenly hit us on the brake with a deadly counter attack.
With 1-2 at half time I didn´t have much faith, as the last 5 times this scoreline has been the case in half time we have lost. But this time it ended 3-3 and we almost won it 3-2. Credit to RH´s ability to change tactics during a match. His match managing was excellent. With Cardiff loosing to Fulham one point was enough to secure PL football next season. Well done RH and Saints.
Redmond worked hard but couldn´t hit a barn door but he had a fine assist for Longys goal to 1-0.

Wonderful first half display but should have scored more than one goal. Second half poor display never got into any pattern of play. Once we got our second goal we were packed and ready for our Summer holidays. Let a very poor Hull side back into the game.

This game pretty much sums up our season.

Well one thing this proves is that what we have been saying for ever that the deadwood is still the deadwood,Stephens once again shite, Forster shite, Long back to nervous Nellie in front of goal again.Redmond had a awful game can't pass and can't shoot, and as for Elyounoussi he is never ever going to make it in the Premier league.Only thing good for me was l got the score correct, original score l had was lose 2-1 but when l saw Stephens to start changed it to 3-0.At least now Ralf must surely see what we all see.
Nobody actually had a good game today, onward and upward next season COYR.
