Nice day out with my brother who came up for the game.5 goals cannot remember scoring 5 and nice goal from Rotherham. They are a poor side worst I have seen in a long time and to be honest we have played better. Strange atmosphere in the ground fist half like a practice match great to see different scorers freeman ngoboto mass all good.nice day out signs all good for next season

An end of season affair at best. No spark at all from Saints and too many players running around with sour expressions. Cedric, Yoshida & Redmond particular seemed to think the whole world was against them for some reason. If players are spending their whole time protesting at referee's decisions then they just are not concentrating on their game.

Puel gave them a well deserved rocket up the backside at HT and it looked better for a while after that but the loss of Gabbiadini brought into focus once again how useless our strikers have been all season and now it seems we may be back to where we started for the rest of the season.

Davis was all over the place first half and one wonders if the captaincy is affecting his game. JWP was invisible and despite his goal surely Puel cannot continue to justify making him a first choice. Yesterday, Hojberg, Clasie & Carceras could not have made a worse fist of it than Davis, W-P & Stephens.

I was not happy at Puel's team selection; why does he leave substitutions so late that players coming on have no time to find their touch, get up to speed and make any sort of effective contribution? Rodriguez really has become an irrelevance and Sofiane Boufal has clearly chucked in the towel as far as Saints are concerned. He is obviously pissed off at never getting a game and will probably ask to leave in the summer.

Then we come on to the subject of Carceras! Why the fiddly boos he wasn't playing beats me and probably many of you who have seen him in action in the U23 games. He is a world calls CB right? This was Spurs, second in the league right? Stephens got selected because he "won the competition" over Carceras for his place, right? My Rrse!

This has more than a smell of dishonesty about it, the poster over on the other site who suggested we pay him for appearances rather than salary may have nailed it on the button. Les instruction to Puel, "Dress it up in the pressies but do not play him unless you really have to as we don't want to spend the money!" I'll wager a tidy sum Les is praying for Yoshi and Stephens not to get injured!

So why is he here without payment or even at all. OK he probably gets a small weekly retainer and gets to train and get back to fitness free of charge so that come the summer he can restart his career in a Champions League team which is perhaps all he ever wanted from the deal to come here.... and Les can say he listened to fans and brought in a CB in January. Surely we deserve bette.

Why is James Ward Prowse rated as our second worse player of the starting line up, he had a decent game and scored, some people just dont like him

Saint Brock, where we watching the same game! We were playing a team fighting for the title who were quality in the first half helped by OR and SD given their midfield too much space, and even then we threatened and could easily have finished the half 2-1. I despair of Tadic's theatrics when he didn't get the pen he should have had, he was still down on the ground when the ball came back to him!

2nd half we were tigers for first 20 mins, Redmond/JWP and co were superb and if linesman had given benefit of doubt to Long (when he was onside 3 or 4 times but given off) it would have been a different result.

Comedy moment was OR's attempt at a forward pass after some brilliant work winning the ball. It is not his strength!

Only disappointment (other than the result and Manolo's injury) were the cameo's of Jay rod and especially Boufal who did not look anything like the player who stole the show at swansea. He is better than that.

Good to see Forster playing with more confidence, one of his best performances for a long time. Our central defence still looks way short of PL quality. As for Boufal, what a shambolic performance. He should have been subbed instead of Redmond. So far he looks a total waste of money.

all saint..re Boufal. You didn't see him against swansea. He looked worth every penny of what we paid. Give him a run in the team instead of Tadic and I am sure he will shine.

Think Ollie's interview was a fair summary, passing poor, new manager bounce, he was a bit slow with subs and we missed Luongo.

Smithies poor (for once), Furlong not bad but a couple of errors (still learning, Bidwell solid and steady but ineffective going forward, Perch and Ned generally ok, Hall fairly good.
Manning, Freeman and Wszolek all hardly in the game and when they were constantly gave the ball away, Washington hardly got the ball and Smith double marked out of it and when that happens he seems to have little else to offer. He has been very good up to now but his lack of mobility (he doesn't seem to have a sprint in him) is a real worry.
