But I would add that Hughes is to blame as well he’s the one on the training ground and responsible for fitness

I think the stats comparing Hughes with the previous manager are interesting. Assuming there is no sensation next Saturday MH will have had half a season in charge and gained 15 points. Even my maths says that 30 for a whole season.

MH can only play with what he has available but if the previous two managers were sacked because they weren't getting enough out of the strong (still labelled such in some but ever-decreasing circles) squad then where does that leave us? The people responsible for the quality of the squad also appoint the manager. It is time that they took some responsibility - resignations higher up in the club structure are now necessary (have been for some while but yesterday was a new low for me). Where that leaves MH I don't know but if he plays Long again...

Dreadful game. We couldnt score if we played till midnight! This team is set for the Championship next season I regret to say. Change of manager needed immediately!

Individual greed and lack of ambition has killed this club. LES REED AND RALPH KRUEGER MUST GO NOW.

Constantly changing the manager has got us into this mess. Puel and Pellegrino didn't have time to turn things round. Sacking Puel (in hindsight was a big mistake). We need some continuity and 2 new strikers - Long and Austin need replacing straight away. Promote 2 of our young strikers and give them a run. After all they can't score less........

One little whinge about visiting teams - I am sick to death of teams parking the bus. They show no inclination to make a game, they shut up shop and hope to nick a goal... it's boring.

If it helps, we noticed that Les Reed was sat on the end of the third row of the Directors' box and not alongside Kreuger at the front. This has to mean something, so watch this space as they say.....

Can someone follow me when I say, that it is as if our current team has no soul/nerve/edge....?
When I try to analyze why I feel this way (and I have not felt like this before over longer periodes in my 38 years as a Saints fan), I end up concluding that THIS (=loss of "team soul") is what can happen when many CRUCIAL players (AND MANAGERS) leave a club within short time....., (all the while a f*****g chinese business man (without a clue about football), and who has never heard about nice things like "the Southampton way" (= 50 % of the players in the first team are hopefully homegrown) buys the main seat at the table at the club :( ….).

Our board carries by far most of the blame for our boring, lacklustre, soulless
I am not sure what to say next….. (about what we fans can do about this) other than pray for a miracle that makes us win the league Cup = the short cut to shake the club wildly in a positive direction. Man, that would wake everybody associated with the club up from this dire 2½ season period.

KriSaint - we nearly won the league cup under Puel. It created a slight feel good factor at the time, especially after the Anfield win, plus a massive scramble for tickets. But then it was back to the boring brand of don't lose, but maybe see if we can nick it if we can be bothered football, that CP was ultimately sacked for and it was back to square one.

I don't know what the answer is, but the black box has long gone and there are a few players and board members who should have gone with it. Our scoring record must be the worst ever now, especially at home, and that is now 5 games in a row in the league without a goal. It reminds me of our time under Puel and Pell, especially when Reed took the first bid of £30m for our winger Mane, who has now scored 40 goals in 2 and a bit seasons at Liverpool - which is more than we managed in the whole league season last season !!
