I was speechless after last weeks horror show against Leicester.Today, I'm speechless after today's performance (first half especially). Where has that team being hiding?! Not a day for negative review or criticism though.

The pitch looked great, the sun was out, the fans were in high spirits and full of voice. We played high tempo, attacking football. We wanted 8 but got 6!

What a goal by Long! and "Catziano" got the cream!

Oh happy day!

Thought Pelle & Mane had great games but Long was MOM for me. Yes his goals were good (his 2nd was one of the best) but his overall contribution showed his true worth to the club.

How refreshing to see a great performance again, after what has been served up of late.

Should and could have been the 8 or 9 that we were all craving - Pelle was onside for his early disallowed goal, Pelle could have had a couple more and if JWP had some pace, he would have been clean through, but had to check back, but still managed to get a tame shot in.

Disappointing to concede in the manner we did and right before half time. Fonte should have done better, but there were 2 other defenders and a keeper close by, but Benteke still managed to head home an uncharged down cross.

After the break, we sat back a little, but I guess that was only to be expected. We still managed to create a few other great chances, including the superbly worked goal for Pelle, whilst at the other end, Gazza made a couple of good saves.

Anyone else see the clear handball from a corner in the second half ? Nothing much made of it at the time, or spoken about since, but a few of us thought it was nailed on :-)

Little did it matter though, as we had already blasted them away with our attacking play in the first half. Mane was superb, not just with his goals, but his passing, crossing and tiresome running. Likewise Long put in his best performance for Saints with 2 goals and 2 assists. The build up for Mane's 3rd was nothing short of sublime, with Long and Bertrand exchanging passes and Long exposing their flank with pace. Long's 2nd goal was superb, robbing the Villa midfield and firing home from fully 35 yards (or more !).

A pleasing day indeed, especially when one of my best mates is a Villa fan !! Despite them staying up, hopefully this will wipe that stupid smirk off that skate Sherwood's face. Still can't forget him spitting in Magilton's face at the Dell, when he was playing for Blackburn !!

Let's see what happens today and next week, but at least we may have a Euro lifeline of wishing Villa another performance like yesterday - in the FA Cup Final !!

a win at last but in a meaningless fixture. first half both sides awful caulker and holiet had a mare. the nufc goal was a terrible piece of defending by caulker. second half we looked brighter and yun and grego cox made a difference. Great cross by Charlie for Matty Phillips to head in nice bit of movement by Greco in the box as well. again nice piece of work by phillips to win the ball and pass to Fer to bury in great style. In truth both sides looked bottom of the table....heartened to see us put a shift in...Nice to see Greeno on the pitch at the end after the head injury and Clint....is this his last time at LR? also Charlie and his son having a long kick about at the end.... see some of you in August...

Two poor teams that have failed to deliver this season A fantastic goal raised this game but the second half was a lot better for the home team
Barton was immense but was lucky to stay on the pitch-sense prevailed from the ref
Mcarthy made soem good saves but was lucky not to be punished
Will be sad to see so many of the players leave -I dont think there were many mercenaries unlike the last time we went down

OK, good season. Great season if you consider the summer we had. But, how good would it have won this game and finish above Brenda and co.?

We are not quite there yet, a young team versus a very experienced team of top internationals and experience won the day quite easily. Fantastic support 'though and if we can keep this team together they should learn from afternoons like today and can only get better next season. Just at the moment there is too much exuberance and not enough craft and that's the difference between a very good side and a top side. Not surprised at the result, Too many of their players were taking a final bow and were born d to have been up for it although they were all cream-crackered at the end.

We had the chances to get something but back to the bad habits of not being able to finish. This game could of been 5-5 but a lack of finishing has hurt us once more, overall we can hold our heads high this season and look forward to the next one, Coyr.

Strangely, I thought we seemed a bit flat today and didn't seem to have much of a game plan. City played well but I think we played in such a way as to make them play well if that makes sense. Just like the game at St. Mary's we didn't pick up the runners up coming from midfield. That seems to be a big difference between us and City. When we get in positions out wide such as they did, we try to find Pelle or "the front man" whereas City play the ball back and have runners coming in from midfield which they score a lot of goals from. Sadly, we find it hard to even hit the target..

I was pleased for Kelvin that he pulled off a couple of good saves today. Mane & Wanyama had a good game overall I thought.

Delighted to see Stevie G and the boys get hammered 6-1. What a way to go out!! Looking forward to watching the highlights of that one...

It's going to be a long summer but can't wait for next season! COYR

Gotta hope its gonna get better than that. Specially Clasie - Mr Invisible or what?

Nice to see Graziano fail to blast it over the bar - maybe the luck of the angles will be with him this season.

Cedric looks quick, Juanmi looks interesting, everyone else looks like they picked up exactly where they left off last season.

Impressive show Vitesse fans.
